Contrat doctoral Écoles françaises à l’étranger (EFE)
Appel 2019

Un contrat ouvert pour l’EFEO

Dans le cadre du soutien apporté aux actions de coopération internationale, le ministère de l’enseignement supérieur, de la recherche et de l’innovation (MESRI) propose un dispositif de contrats doctoraux fléchés à l’international (ACI). Ce dispositif peut bénéficier à tout doctorant dont les recherches s’inscrivent dans le cadre des programmes scientifiques d’une des cinq Écoles françaises à l’étranger : École française d’Athènes, École française de Rome, Institut français d’archéologie orientale, École française d’Extrême-Orient, Casa de Velázquez- École des hautes études hispaniques et ibériques. 

Les écoles françaises à l’étranger sont des établissements publics à caractère scientifique, culturel et professionnel placés sous la tutelle du ministre chargé de l’enseignement supérieur. Dans les aires géographiques et les domaines scientifiques – relevant des SHS- qui les caractérisent, les écoles françaises à l’étranger ont pour mission de développer la recherche fondamentale sur le terrain et la formation à la recherche.


Les dossiers devront être adressées au directeur de l’EFEO à l’adresse evelise.bruneau@efeo.net, sous la forme d’un document PDF comprenant :

– Un projet de thèse de trois à cinq pages au maximum 
– Un CV
– Une lettre de présentation du projet par le ou les directeur(s) de thèse pressenti(s)
– un avis du directeur de l’École doctorale française

Le calendrier établi est le suivant :

– Dépôt des dossiers jusqu’au 30 avril 2019 à 15h (heure de Paris).

The 11th meeting of NAJAKS (Nordic Association for Japanese and Korean Studies) will be held at the University of Helsinki, Finland on 28-29 May 2020.

We welcome abstracts for papers on any aspect of Japanese and Korean Studies including, but not limited to;

    -History

    -Philosophy, History of Thought, and Religion

    -Political Science and International Relations

    -Sociology and Cultural Anthropology

    -Arts and Media

    -Literature

    -Linguistics, Language Education, and Translation

Abstracts should be submitted as a one-sided, single-spaced page, 2.5 cm margins all around, and in Times 12-point font. The length may be ranged between 300 and 500 words. Format can be .pdf or .doc. If your abstract includes any special fonts, please submit your file as a .pdf format and embed the special fonts into the document. The content can be any combination of text, figures, tables, and examples. References can be optionally given on the 2nd page.

Abstracts must be submitted to <lasse.a.lehtonen@helsinki.fi> for Japanese Studies and <jeong-young.kim@helsinki.fi> for Korean Studies during the submission period.

The Asia Pacific Institutes in the School of Language & Global Studies is looking for talented students who are interested in our MA courses in Asia Pacific Studies or North Korean Studies. The successful applicant will receive a full tuition fee waiver.

This opportunity is open to anyone already holding a good BA (Hons) or graduating no later than July 2019 who wants to continue their study at MA level with us. The scholarship is open to any nationality but will be given only at the Home/EU student rate (non-Home/EU students will receive a discount on tuition fees of equivalent value).

Please note that this is a competitive scholarship.

Application requirements:

  • A good BA (Hons) degree in any subject (minimum 2:1)
  • Good undergraduate dissertation result (minimum 2:1)
  • A plan for MA dissertation (500 words)
  • A confirmed place on either MA Asia Pacific Studies or MA North Korean Studies at the time of application

Applications can be made in advance of results but any award will be conditional on the above requirements being met.

To apply, please send an email including your undergraduate transcript (or predicted grade from appropriate referee), your 500-word plan for the MA dissertation and the name of at least one referee, to Dr Sojin Lim (SLim4@uclan.ac.uk). The title of the email should be “[MA Scholarship] APS/NKS (delete as appropriate) your full name”.

The LTI Korea Translation Academy is looking for talented applicants who will rise to the challenge of translating Korean literature, thereby contributing to the growth of its global readership.

LTI Korea Translation Academy Fellowship

The fellowship is open to native speakers of English, French, German, Russian, and Spanish. The fellowship is designed to allow foreign students to devote themselves fully to their study of literary translation during their stay in Korea.

□ The fellowship includes: round-trip airfare, monthly stipend of 1.6 million won, visa sponsorship and tuition waiver

□ About the Program

○ Languages: English, French, German, Russian, Spanish

Eligibility

  – Foreigners and overseas Koreans with a bachelor’s degree or above can apply.

  – Applicants who are not involved in any economic activities in Korea when the course starts (September 2019).

○ Number of Fellowships: 4 for each language

○ Curriculum: Translation of Literary Texts, Study of Translation Styles, Korean Literature, Korean Culture, Korean Language

  – The program also offers activities such as workshops with Korean writers and literary excursions.

○ Faculty: Professors of literature, literary translation, and Korean language and culture

○ Duration: September 2019 – June 2021

  ※ Fall Semester: September – December | Spring Semester: March – June

Selection Process
