SoKEN 2019 Call for Papers for Workshop
Korea at the Crossroads: Economic Development, Political Dynamics, and Social Changes in the Contemporary Korean Peninsula

SoKEN annual workshop in 2019 will be held at University of Central Lancashire, which celebrates its 5th anniversary of the International Institute of Korean Studies (IKSU).
The workshop will focus on recent development in Korean Peninsula based on economic, political and social aspects, while also encouraging various range of studies on Korea..
The Social Sciences Korean Studies European Network (SoKEN) has its origin at “Korean Studies in the Social Sciences in Europe: Workshop to establish the European Association for Korean Studies Scholars in the Social Sciences”, which was convened at Turku University, Finland, in 2017.
It continued as “2018 Paris Workshop of the Social Sciences Korean Studies European Network (SSKSEN)” at the Paris Diderot University, France, as its second annual workshop of Korean Studies in Social Sciences in Europe series.
Flight(international)/train(UK) fare will be supported up to GBP 120, and two-night accommodation will be provided for presenters.

–Result notification: 17 May 2019
–Deadline for a complete paper (maximum 8,000 words): 18 October 2019.
–Published work will not be accepted.
We expect presenters also participated as discussants at the workshop.
PhD student participation is welcome.
At the end of the workshop, we will look for an opportunity to publish an edited volume.
