Program Outline
The Korea Foundation (KF) provides support for a variety of Korea-related cultural exchange projects being implemented by organizations abroad as part of its efforts to promote understanding and friendship between Korea and other countries.
Eligible Applicants
∎ Overseas organizations implementing art or cultural programs
∎ Overseas universities with Korean studies centers or Korea-related
programs
※ Restrictions
– Applications from individuals will not be considered
– Eligible organizations can apply for only one project per year
– Korea-based organizations will not be considered
Project Period
∎ To be eligible for program support, proposed projects must be conducted between January 1, 2021 and June 30, 2022.
Eligible Projects
∎ Performing arts events related to Korean music, dance, or theater
∎ Visual arts exhibitions that feature Korea-related paintings, calligraphy,
sculpture, photography, ceramics, installation and/or media art
∎ Lectures, workshops, and seminars on the performing/visual arts of Korea
∎ Projects designed to introduce Korean arts and culture through use of film,
video, and recordings
∎ Comprehensive projects that incorporate the above genres
※ Due to the outbreak of COVID-19, the KF is temporarily supporting virtual or contactless programs for Korean culture and arts.
※ Ineligible Projects
– Projects for commercial gain or the promotional activities of certain
individuals or organizations
– Projects targeted at minority groups such as overseas Koreans
– Projects implemented on a private (non-public) basis
– Production of film, video, and recorded works
– Projects that receive support from other Korean government
organizations/agencies, such as the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Arts Council Korea; Korea Arts Management Service; Korean Culture and Information Services; and Overseas Koreans Foundation (no overlapping support)
– Projects that received sponsorship support from the KF in the previous year but were not actually implemented
